MatriX is complete rewrite and makes use of all new .NET framework and c# language features. While agsXMPP is still .NET 1.0 compatible. MatriX requires .NET 3.5 or higher. Both libraries share only a very small subset of code. MatriX is using LinQ to Xml for the Dom which is extremely fast, lightweight and powerful.
MatriX is closed source and pay-ware, while agsXMPP is open source and can be licensed under GPL or a commercial license.

Let me know when you have any further questions.

Does this mean that MatriX is replacing agsXMPP? Will there be any future updates to agsXMPP?

Thanks,
Mark

no, MatriX does not replace agsXMPP. We will maintain both codebases.

What FAQ?

Anyway, what are the current and future differences between agsXMPP and MatriX? I'm still dreaming of developing an integrated communication application for e-mail and chat that would use your XMPP library. It would definitely be non-commercial software so I won't be paid for it. Obviously the MatriX costs are way out of what I would want to afford for it. And seeing MatriX described as the successor of agsXMPP, I'm feeling unsafe with that plan.
