Subject: Login fails when username contains latin characters
I have a user called: Clément
when trying to login using AGS XMPP connecting to OpenFire it throws an exception. Apparently MD5 comparison between AGS & Openfire fails.
Current workaround is to replac the é by e, however this won't be culture friendly especially for french people.
Thx to consider this bug as high priority

A username whih starts with a capital letter is invalid.

  • Have to prepared the username with nodeprep and jid escaping before login?
  • Do you run the latest code from SVN?
  • have you tried to connect with other client like PSI to your server with this account? Does it work when they use DIGEST-MD5?
