Subject: file transfer via proxy
Hi,

For file transfer via the sock5 proxy, does it mean that all the file data will pass throught the proxy
server, and will it cause much loading to the file server ?

yes,
if both clients are behind NAT and firewalls and you can't setup a peer to peer connections between both clients then there is no way to transfer the file between both clients without a proxy in the middle.

You should always try to establish a peer to peer connection first. If it does not work then fall back to a proxy.

But by the proxy methodology, will it first establish the connection by the proxy server, and directly
transfer the file from peer to peer (not via the proxy) later ?

no, this depends on the smarthosts you send.

It should try the host in the order you send them. Which means the proxy should be the last host and the first hosts should be your internal ip addresses and your external internet ip address if yo know it.
