Subject: xmpp hardware specification
Hi

we have build our server using agsxmpp library, we have deployed it own windows server 2012 R2, having 8Gb RAM, Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2640 @2.50HZ (2 processor).

we want to accommodate maximum connection of xmpp min 30k connections to 2^16-1 connection. above specification is enough to accommodate these connections.

what are the ideal hardware specification for xmpp server.

You have to run load tests with your use cases to find out.

I XMPP software is different and has totally different requirements. In XMPP you cannot make assumption like X amount of connected users require Y resources.

It depends on what your are doing, how many contacts your users have in average, how many subscriptions, how many messages of which size and complexity they are sending etc....
