Checking Jid existence

Subject: Checking Jid existence
Hello,

I need to find a way to check if a jid exist on the server.  I have been searching for a method in MatriX that can facilitate this request.  If I am able find out I would like to auto subscribe to that jid while I added them to my roster.

you have to try to register the jid, if it exists it returns an error. Usually there is nothing like that for normal and new users in XMPP. If a server would tell you which Jids exist it would be easy to generate Jig lists for spamming.

Would be better to write a Web API which checks it directly against the database of your server.
