Subject: Publish/Subscribe Node Ownership
I have been able to get my Publish/Subscribe example to work for the most part. Currently, only the user that created the pubsub node is allowed to publish to that node, if another user attempts to publish to that node I get an authentication error. I believe this possible to achieve I just haven't been able to achieve it at present. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I think what you are looking for is described here in XEP-0060:

That is exactly what I was looking for... is there way to modify affiliations via the Matrix API?

Yes, the PubsubManager has functions for this. If something is missing let us know.
