Novice in XMPP

Subject: Novice in XMPP
Hello All,

I'm pretty novice in XMPP, and i've been given a task to read and understand the protocol, Basically the company wants to make chat client based on XMPP protocol.. Can i expect good tutorial, background regarding XMPP and how to make it functional in either C or C++.

I suggest to buy and read the book which is advertised below this thread. This gives you a very good overview on XMPP.
Then look for a XMPP library in C or C++ and start coding.

Thanks Alex, But there must be some online sources also.. Buying the book will take some time and i don't know whether the company guys are willing for it.. Can you redirect me to some online tutorial or XMPP library for C,C++.
