Authentication using web server

Subject: Authentication using web server
I have a jabberd2.x server up and running (locally) . I also have a local web server. I want to authenticate the users(who r using some jabber client) through the webserver.What should i do for tht...i m using miniclient.
More specificlly , when a user login in mini client , he should be authenticated on my web server...
Can nybody help me regading this....

Hello,

you can authenticate with a XMPP client against HTTP Webpages using JEP-0070.
This should exactly to what you want.

There are currently also some students working on a Summer of code project which does exactly the same. Here a link to that project page:

Another way is to modify you XMPP server or WebServer to use the same database and authentication credentials.
