WinRT and websockets

Subject: WinRT and websockets
Hi, at the moment we are evaluating the WinRT-Package for Windows Phone 8.1.
Is there any possibility to use websockets as transport?

Hello Edwin,

no, Websockets are currently not available in the WinRT version of MatriX. Only Sockets and BOSH are the options currently.

Do you have any plans to implement websocket-Transport in the WinRT package in the future?

Hello Edwin,

this is the first request we got for WebSockets on WinRT since years.
So its currently not on our roadmap. Something we would have to evaluate, and see if the WinRT Websocket classes work fine with current XMPP implementations (MessageWebSocket and StreamWebSocket).
