Subject: MatriX JS In Edge
Hi Alex,

I'm looking to get chat working on a website and we're considering using MatriX JS as we worked with the .NET library for a desktop application.

We were testing the example project which you posted on GitHub initially on Chrome and IE, when we noticed that we were not able to get a connection to our chat server using Microsoft Edge. Do you have any idea why this would be?

  • Are you using sockets or BOSH?
  • Do you see any errors in the browser debug console?
  • Did you try to debug with the code?

Using Bosh.

From what I can see it may be a issue with the mapping as I'm seeing the following below when I look at the console.

  • HTTP404: NOT FOUND - The server has not found anything matching the requested URI (Uniform Resource Identifier).
  (XHR)GET - http://localhost:8083/XmppClientDemo.ts

I can't really debug it since the files aren't being retrieved correctly however when I click connect I see the following below.

stop sendFunction
matrix.combined.js (10937,21)

Again I'm only seeing this in Edge, I find it strange that the mapping would work in Chrome and IE but not Edge.

just tried it in Edge (Windows 10). Works fine for me without any problems.
Server is prosody.
