Subject: ags/Matrix XMPP and Cisco Presence Server Multi-User Chat

Has anyone successfully implemented ad-hoc multi-user chat using ags/Matrix SDK; connecting to a Cisco Presence Server?

Cisco Presence Server does not support creation of "Persistent Chat" rooms unless an external DB is configured. I don't want a persistent chat, I just want three users to get in to a ad-hoc multi-user chat session.

Any ideas?

PS: I tried the mini-client example, that required a "room ID" to join group chat. I am thinking that is for persistent chat rooms and not for ad-hoc multi-user chats.

If you join a room which does not exist it gets created automatically. So you only have to create a random unique room id an enter this room.
Then invite your other users to this room.
When this room is not persistent it gets destroyed automatically by the server when the last participant leaves this room.

For others who might be interested, here's my working code to create(and join) a adhoc multi user chat room:

muc.EnterRoom(m_RoomJid, "HostUser", true);
pres.To = m_RoomJid;
pres.Add(muc);
xmppClient.Send(pres);
muc.Invite(toUserID_Jid, m_RoomJid, "Please join");

Note: This is tested to work with Cisco Unified Presence Server

line 2, 3 and 4 are not required.
Line 1 should create the room for you. So line 1 and 5 should be all you need.
